Files¶
Files gives every person and agent in your workspace a shared, durable place to store, organize, and collaborate on documents. Files your agents create are immediately accessible in the browser, and files you upload are immediately readable by any agent you give access to.
What you can do¶
Upload files. Drag files — or entire folders — onto an agent's section of the file tree, use the upload button, or paste a URL to pull a file from the web. Supported types include images (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP), PDFs, spreadsheets (XLSX, XLS, CSV), Word documents (DOCX, DOC), PowerPoint (PPTX, PPT), audio, plain text, and Markdown.
Organize in folders. Rename a file to a path like reports/q1.csv to create virtual folders. Folders can be collapsed, expanded, and navigated independently.
Preview in-app. Images display inline, PDFs open in the built-in viewer, spreadsheets render as a paginated table (with sheet tabs), Word documents render as formatted HTML, PowerPoint shows a slide-by-slide view, and text/Markdown render with highlighting.
Edit documents. Markdown, CSV, Word, and spreadsheet files can be edited directly in-app — click Edit, make changes, and save, no download required.
Version history. Every save creates a version snapshot. Browse prior versions, preview them read-only, and restore any earlier version with one click — the current content is snapshotted first, so a restore is always reversible.
Share files and folders. Grant access to specific teammates or agents; sharing a folder cascades to every file inside it.
@-mention files in chat. Type @ and a file or folder name to insert a structured mention, or drag a file row into the chat composer — the agent receives the file as context.
Files and agents¶
Agents can read and write files within their workspace. With the right permissions, an agent can list files it has access to, read their contents, and upload new ones — for example, saving a generated report or a completed form. Files an agent creates appear instantly in the browser and are @-mentionable in follow-up conversations. A shared Company files area holds documents available to every agent in your workspace — the right home for templates and reference material.
Connected storage¶
BotBoss can connect to Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, and SharePoint. Once connected, those accounts appear as expandable mounts in the Files sidebar — browse their folder trees without downloading anything, then drag any file or folder onto an agent to import it, preserving folder structure.
